Inspired by the vision of Mr. K.A. Nettakallappa, who believed in the power of sports to transform lives, the Nettakallappa Aquatic Centre (NAC) was established in 2012. NAC is a vibrant community where young learners, beginners, and experienced athletes come together to develop their skills and love for swimming while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
Today, NAC continues to carry forward this vision by offering world-class facilities, a wide range of swimming programs, and a commitment to nurturing both future champions and lifelong swimming enthusiasts.

The Leadership Team
Nettakallappa Aquatic Centre is a not-for-profit organisation committed to swim education and excellence in India. The management team consists of philanthropists, educators, and sports leaders who enable safe and hygienic learning environments.
Sujatha Tilak Kumar
Director
As the Founder and Director of the Nettakallappa Aquatic Centre (NAC), Sujatha Tilak Kumar has been a driving force in youth sports. She established the center in 2012 under the K.N. Guruswamy Educational & Charitable Trust (KNG Trust), where she also serves as a director. Under her leadership, the NAC has gained national and international recognition, even becoming the only Indian swim center to win an international award for excellence in swim teaching. A passionate advocate for young athletes, she has guided the centre to produce numerous champions.
KN Tilak Kumar
Chairperson
K.N. Tilak Kumar is the Chairman of the K.N. Guruswamy Educational & Charitable Trust, which oversees institutions like The Ashram School, Deccan International School, and the Nettakallappa Aquatic Centre (NAC). A sports enthusiast and avid swimmer, he champions educational and sporting causes across Karnataka. He is also the Joint Managing Director of The Printers Mysore, a role he has held since 1978. A four-decade veteran of the newspaper industry, he was instrumental in expanding the reach of the newspaper Prajavani.
Dr. Varun Nijhawan
Head – NAC
Dr. Varun Nijhawan is an experienced leader with over 23 years in sports administration and operations. He has a background in sports science and athlete management, and is known for founding and managing several prominent sports organizations. At the Nettakallappa Aquatic Centre (NAC), he is the Operations Head, where he oversees the athlete management system, makes strategic decisions, and directs community development projects. His leadership has been a key factor in the center’s recent growth.
