A Tribute to Excellence
The Nettakallappa Aquatic Centre and the Nettakallappa Swimming Competition stand as a tribute to the enduring legacy of Mr. K.A.Nettakallappa, a man whose passion for sports left an indelible mark on Karnataka.
As the former Managing Director of the Deccan Herald and Prajavani group of newspapers, Mr. Nettakallappa was a prominent figure in the media landscape. However, his influence extended far beyond the realm of publishing. He was a fervent sports enthusiast who recognized the power of sports to inspire, unite, and elevate individuals and communities.
In recognition of his invaluable contributions to the sphere of sports, we proudly present the Nettakallappa Swimming Competition. This event embodies the values that Mr. Nettakallappa championed: dedication, perseverance, excellence, and the pursuit of sporting dreams. It is a fitting tribute to a visionary leader whose passion continues to inspire generations of athletes.
