Dr. Jon Rudd
Honorary Chief Mentor
Dr. Jon, an Olympic gold medalist and president of the World Swimming Coaches Association, is Ireland’s National Performance Director for swimming & diving. With vast experience in the world of sport, sports science, and education, he’s the mastermind behind high-performance swimmers who’ve snagged Olympic golds and set world records. As both a national and international leader, his presence is the secret ingredient that every swimmer at NAC dreams of. When Dr. Jon’s around, expect nothing less than champion-level training with a side of inspiration!
Sharath Chandra
Lead Coach
With over a decade of experience in competitive swimming, Sharath Chandra is an AUSTSWIM-certified assessor (TSW, TCS, INF) and an ASCA Level 5 performance coach. As Lead Coach for the competitive program at NAC, he has guided swimmers to state and national medals, while mentoring and training swim teachers and coaches. He has also designed and led successful swim programs at leading academies across India, combining technical expertise with a passion for athlete development.
Ankush Kanbarkar
Lead Coach
Ankush Kanbarkar, Lead Coach at the center, is a certified professional with credentials from NSNIS (Sports Authority of India), AUSTSWIM (TSW & TCS), SFI Level-2, and ASCA Level-3. A former national-level swimmer, he brings over a decade of coaching experience grounded in scientific methodology. He has consistently guided swimmers to medal-winning performances at both state and national levels. Ankush leads the center’s pre-competitive program, ensuring a strong technical foundation and upholding the highest standards of coaching excellence and long-term athlete development.
Jijeesh Jayan
Sr. Supervisor
Jijeesh Jayan is the senior supervisor of the Learn to Swim program at NAC. He is a former national-level swimmer and water polo player. He holds a Diploma in Swim Coaching from NSNIS, Sports Authority of India and is an AUSTSWIM-certified Assessor. With 12 years of experience in swim coaching, teaching, and program management—8 of which were gained internationally while managing the SwimAmerica program in Kuwait—he brings a wealth of knowledge to the role.
